Your role as Regional Dam Safety Manager:Responsible for the overall dam safety topic in the country (Brazil) including safeguarding compliance with all relevant requirements and communication with country specific dam safety authorities.Responsible for ensuring the quality of documents, or to develop more, regarding the safe operation of dams and catchment areas in South America (Brazil, Chile and Peru).Provide operational support and professional advice to South America countries in the reassessment, rehabilitation, design and construction of dams and appurtenant structures.Provide specialized technical support to South America countries to align the criteria and guidelines established in Dam Safety Management.Main Responsibilities:Coordinate the regional South America Dam Safety Group in connection with the P SA SVP's requirements and instructions.Ensure that the Dam Safety management system is followed up and reported;Ensure an updated qualitative risk assessment of the major risks in the catchments where the dams are located;Describe and assess the country dam safety regulation and its implication for the current Statkraft group of assets;Communicate with relevant country specific regulatory authorities;Train and supervise the Dam Safety Technically Trained Person for regular Dam Safety inspections as specified in the asset specific OMS (Operation, Maintenance and Surveillance) Dam Safety Manual.Regularly train and prepare emergency preparedness drills for all managers involved in Dam Safety and emergency management.Ensure that inspections of the dam are carried out on the applicable frequency to assess the condition of the dam during its operation or alteration.Prepare annual updates of the country specific Dam Safety Program and inform about necessary dam safety measures for the dams to remain in safe condition.Become the Technical Responsible professional for the dams in the country, producing, revising and executing all pertaining documents both internally and externally (ANEEL, CREA, etc.
).Your profile:Graduation in Civil Engineering, Master's degree (PhD is an advantage) in Construction, Geotechnics, Hydraulics or Hydrology.
Dam Engineering and Dam Safety subjects are preferred.Desirable consistent professional experience in design, construction works, and project development related to Dam Engineering and Dam Safety.Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or another Project Software;Condition Analysis / RCM;Office;MS Project;Language: Advanced English and Portuguese.
