**Your new team**:
You will be part of the Accounting team which consists of approx. 30 colleagues located in our offices in Denmark, Germany, Poland, Italy, Lithuania, and Brazil. You will be part of a small sub-team, working with Brazilian companies, consisting of a Team Lead and three colleagues, three of which are based in Recife and one in our office in Copenhagen, Denmark. Together, you handle all accounting tasks for our Brazilian entities and ensure that everything runs smoothly. You will be part of an engaged and motivated finance department with approx. 85 colleagues in total, where you will work particularly close with the Financial Controlling team.
**Your new role**:
As our new Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for accounts payable and receivables, tax review, and accounting of the Brazilian companies in the European Energy group. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, including coordinating tasks and topics with Accountants and Financial Controllers in HQ, and provide business support to the Project Development department. Moreover, you will have contact to external stakeholders such as the Brazilian authorities and local accounting and tax advisors.
You will be based from our office in Recife, Brazil.
**A typical day**:
- You are responsible for accounting of Brazilian companies in the European Energy group
- You handle daily bookkeeping
- You support and review local filings of VAT, tax, and other in collaboration with external advisors
- You follow up on receivables
- You share documentation with external accounting
- You support with financial reconciliation of accounts
- You are responsible and support period end tasks
- You assist the team when there are interactions with external auditors and tax authorities
- You provide business support to the Brazilian Project Development team
- You assist with optimization of tasks and processes
**Prerequisites to progress in the job**:
- You have minimum 5 years of experience within tax and accounting from a similar position
- You hold a degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
- You have good understanding of general Brazilian taxation (Direct and Indirect tax) - Preferably IRPJ, CSLL (real/presumed profit) PIS, COFINS (non
- and cumulated), ISS, RETIDOS (withholding taxes)
- You have knowledge of Brazilian accounting focused in the power sector (Tax, VAT, compliance of invoices)
- You have good analytical skills and puts an effort in delivering timely and accurately in high quality
- You are fluent in Portuguese and speak English on a proficient level to use it in your work
- You have good Excel skills and are experienced with Navision ERP system or similar
- Knowledge about issueing invoices would be a plus
As a person, you are thorough and have a structured way of working. You have good interpersonal and communication skills and find yourself working well with internal stakeholders across departments and at all levels as well as external stakeholders.
