We are looking for a fully remote Backend Engineer that can contribute to the development of our web applications.
Who you are
You're a software engineer with at least 7 years commercial experience
You're looking to develop your skills further as part of an in house team
You have a genuine enthusiasm for software engineering and take no greater pleasure than finding the right solution to the problem at hand

What you will do
Develop web based systems
Develop functionality for our own products, administration systems and ecommerce capabilities using modern frameworks
Develop and maintain integrations with third party systems
Develop our APIs
Work in a team environment
You'll work with other software engineers, designers, QAs and product managers
You'll communicate your ideas and plan your work
You'll peer review your colleagues work
What we need from you
At least 7 years of commercial experience as a software engineer or equivalent
In-depth knowledge of PHP8+
Familiarity with modern PHP frameworks, preferably Symfony
Solid understanding of OO programming concepts and patterns
Familiarity with version control using Git and associated workflows
Experience with TDD and unit testing
A strong desire to learn and to contribute to the team's work
Other skills you might have
A degree in CS or equivalent is a plus
Good understanding of HTML and CSS
Familiarity with modern JS frameworks
Experience designing and building RESTful APIs
Knowledge of relational databases
Comfortable on the command line of *NIX machines
Experience working in cross functional teams
An eye for user behaviour and design
