Overview of Your Role:
The Customs Compliance Senior Analyst is responsible for the processes necessary to ensure GM's compliance regarding Customs and Import / Export Regulations.
This person will be a focal point regarding AEO Certification, acting cross-functionally with all departments of the company to ensure that all Compliance and Security eligibility criteria are being met, developing and tracking action plans with peers to adapt nonconformities, and serving as a point of contact with Customs IRS authorities from government.
Rotation opportunity providing experiences in other roles.
Designed for persons who take initiative to improve their own and team work, can manage projects through to completion, and have strong written and oral communication skills.
Your Responsibilities:
AEO Focal Point, instructing and guiding Customs staff and other departments regarding eligibility regulations, keeping the maintenance of certification.
Develop and apply training, best practices, and procedures, including leading the annual Internal Controls and Risk Matrix review.
Support and track judicial and administrative processes regarding import / export operations together with the litigation team or law firms, providing official answers if necessary.
Manage the process of classification of goods (HS Code/NCM).
Calculation for products qualification in region FTA's.
Analyze special regimes such as EX Tariff, Drawback, Recof, identifying saving or compliance opportunities.
Check the regulations and maintain compliance regarding customs regulations, checking updates, analyzing impacts together with teams involved acting as advisory.
Required Qualifications:
Complete Degree in Foreign Trade, Administration, Law, or related fields.
Solid experience in a relevant large public accounting firm or private industry experience.
Fluency in the English language.
The ability to prioritize assignments and manage workload within statutory and internal deadlines.
Well-developed computer and Customs skills, i.e., Experience with finance enterprise systems and tax provision / compliance systems (e.g., SAP, OneSource).
Demonstrated strong performance and high productivity.
Self-motivated, with strong interpersonal, team, and partnering skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Foreign Trade or Administration; other advanced degree or training.
Demonstrated effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
