We are building an AI copilot for electrical engineers to automate the monotonous, repetitive tasks in PCB design the same way that Github Copilot did for software engineers.
We have trained a custom AI to read the component datasheets that serve as the instruction manuals for every step in the design process, from discovering components, to wiring them together, to validating the design, to debugging the prototypes, and finally to manufacturing them at scale.
We launched our free search tool in Q3 2024, and have gotten surprisingly great results purely via word of mouth.
We have raised funding, are now looking to expand the team as we iterate to drive monetization and find product market fit.
Our first hire lives in Sao Paulo, so we're looking to expand the Brazil team, but are open to other locations for the right candidate!
**About the Job**
We're looking for a
Senior Software Engineer who LOVES data
to own the pipeline that powers our AI.
We want to talk to you if you're:
passionate about tackling large-scale data problems and breaking them down into manageable processes
a self-starter who enjoys determining their own work pipeline amidst the mildly-frantic pace of a startup
Someone who enjoys waking up in the morning and thinking "what fire should I put out today"
A flexible generalist who also enjoys sporadically working on other pressing problems, like DevOps, Support portals, external APIs, etc.
**Key Goals**
Data Collection -
Develop and maintain web crawlers to collect data on nearly 100 million electronic components.
Data Cleaning -
Merge, De-Dupe, process and clean raw data to ensure it's AI-ready.
Data Storage & Access -
Design, maintain, and optimize storage systems for fast, scalable data access.
AI Pipelines -
Build and maintain an internal tool that supports ongoing AI, ML, and LLM model improvements.
Generalist
- There's more than enough work to go around, so we'll expect this hire to be ready to go beyond the data stack as needed.
**Key Responsibilities**
Be the first data-centric hire on our small team
Convince us what we SHOULD be doing, then go out and do it
Define the necessary infrastructure so we can scale this foundational process
Work with 3rd party APIs to ingest information at scale as we grow
Create our external APIs to give access to clients/partners as we grow
Help us keep up with rapidly advancing best practices around data storage, training, and retrieval for cutting edge LLM, VLM, ML, Neural Nets, and Knowledge Graphs
**Qualifications**
Must-Have Skills:
5+ years of experience as a software engineer
Senior Proficiency in Python and SQL
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Lambda, etc)
Should-Have Skills
3+ years experience in data engineering, analysis, etc
Experience building and maintaining web crawlers.
Proficiency in data pipelines, data cleaning, and storage optimization.
Deep understanding of database systems and handling large-scale datasets.
Prior experience at an early-stage startup.
Nice to Have skills (But Not Necessary)
Knowledge with Retool and Supabase
Familiarity with AI training pipelines and annotation systems.
Enthusiasm for the electronic components industry (bonus if you have a technical background in EE or a related field).
