Xometry is adding a Senior Data Scientist to our Data Science team.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for using data science techniques to solve large-scale business problems.
Additionally, this person will use their knowledge of probability and statistics to make defensible statistical inferences from data.
This is a 1-year contract.
Responsibilities:
Use data analysis and visualizations (examples include Looker, Jupyter Notebooks, Python, Pandas) to inform the business strategy for cost predictions in a two-sided marketplace.
Query and extract data from databases (Snowflake and MongoDB).
Develop hypotheses and conduct statistical analysis to answer business questions.
Design, implement and analyze results from experiments (A/B Tests).
Analyze formulaic algorithms for accuracy, provide recommendations, and update production code.
Relentlessly iterate solutions within a fast-paced environment where ambiguity is the norm.
Solve challenging, uncharted problems.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; degree in applied math, computer science, natural sciences or engineering preferred.
M.S.
or PhD in a related field highly desired.
5+ years of experience with pricing algorithms and product led technology.
Proficient in SQL and Python (numpy, scipy, pandas, and sklearn preferred).
Experience interacting with APIs using Python.
Proficient in applied statistics (distribution of random variables, p-values, confidence interval, standard error, power, type I and II errors).
Proficient in statistical tests (t-test, ANOVA, Chi-Square test).
Fluent with scientific software principles, e.g.
versioning systems, reproducibility, code deployment.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and shift gears quickly.
Must be able to work core aligned hours to US Eastern Time / GMT-5.
