This is a freelance contractor position. TLR Ventures is a biotech startup backed by Jackson Laboratories, a leading global biomedical lab. We are developing a transformational technology platform for biomedical research that's going to make a big difference in how drugs are discovered and how diseases are cured.The platform is a scientific data collection system that includes IoT hardware, a video processing pipeline, fundamental machine vision algorithms like segmentation and key point detection, higher order algorithms to infer and predict digital measures, and a user-facing layer for presenting data and insights to scientists. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will join a team building a state-of-the-art scientific data analysis platform that has the potential to revolutionize medical research. As a key member of Engineering, you will have the unique opportunity to build critical product features and infrastructure while shaping the direction of the product and the company.ResponsibilitiesWork on a state-of-the-art platform for pre-clinical trials in an Agile development process.Build out a scalable infrastructure to support provisioning of thousands of IoT devices at large pharmaceutical companies with an Infrastructure-as-Code mindset.Work closely with Product Management and QA and deliver world-class products on schedule.Mentor engineers, enforce best practices, and promote constant learning via tech talks.QualificationsAt least 5 years of professional cloud DevOps experience.Proficient with Amazon Web Services.Expert at Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.Seasoned with configuration management tools like Ansible.Conversant with VPN setup and NAT configuration.Familiar with infrastructure monitoring and alerting tools like Datadog and Grafana.Comfortable in Python or another programming language.At home in the Linux command line and Unix administration.Experience with compiling bootable Linux kernels is a bonus.Strong communication skills.
