Job Title: Senior Kubernetes Engineer Location : Remote Duration : 3 months Rate: $35 - $40/hr on W2 Job Summary : We are seeking a Senior Kubernetes Engineer for a 3-month contract to assist in the design, implementation, and optimization of our Kubernetes environment on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) . The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with Kubernetes , GKE Enterprise , and Istio (or other service meshes) to support large-scale cloud infrastructure. The role will focus on building, managing, and automating Kubernetes clusters, as well as integrating Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible to optimize cloud operations. Key Responsibilities: • Architect, implement, and optimize GKE Enterprise clusters within Google Cloud Platform (GCP) . • Deploy, configure, and manage Kubernetes clusters at scale, ensuring performance, scalability, and security. • Integrate and manage Istio or other service mesh solutions to enable secure and efficient service-to-service communication. • Utilize Terraform and Ansible to automate infrastructure provisioning, management, and scaling. • Collaborate with DevOps, security, and application teams to ensure smooth deployment of containerized applications. • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kubernetes clusters, network policies, and GCP services. • Implement best practices for Kubernetes security , including role-based access control (RBAC), network policies, and encryption. • Optimize cost, performance, and availability of Kubernetes workloads. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Google Cloud Platform (GCP) expertise – strong experience deploying and managing infrastructure on GCP. ( Must Have ) • Kubernetes – deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture, deployments, services, and cluster management. ( Must Have ) • GKE Enterprise – hands-on experience managing Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) Enterprise environments at scale. ( Must Have ) • Istio or other service mesh technologies – proven experience implementing and managing service meshes for microservices architecture. ( Must Have ) • Terraform and Ansible – experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools to automate Kubernetes cluster provisioning, configuration management, and scaling. ( Nice to Have ) Nice to Have: • Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure). • Knowledge of container security best practices and Kubernetes RBAC. • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integration with Kubernetes. • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
