About the Role/ What You Will Do The PSLD Senior Manager Logistic role is responsible for the key support and execution functions in managing inbound and outbound processes in South America.
Manages a team of transportation professionals that oversees and strives to maximize the efficiency of transportation networks.
• Optimizing shipments and communications between manufacturing facilities, suppliers, and partners.
• Organizing, operationalizing and monitoring ground transportation, air and ocean transportation network for global supply chain solutions.
• Managing relationships and processes with key carriers to ensure satisfactory levels of service.
• Overseeing carrier selection and renewals and participating in contract negotiations. Seeking new carriers and transportation routes.
Main areas of the position • Inbound: Ground transportation management, quality & damage governance supporting Piracicaba; freight audit/validation import and export (reconciliation processes) supporting Piracicaba, Campo Largo, Piracicaba Distribution Center (Parts), Gensets and H&R.
• Outbound: Machines and gensets export processes supporting Piracicaba, Campo Largo and PSB. Parts export processes of the following facilities: Piracicaba, Campo Largo, PSB (Power System), H&R, Solar and (Parts). For Solar facility, besides the export processes, this position is also responsible for the import processes, freight audit and local inbound. This role is also responsible for trade and customs compliance, assessments, audits processes, Supply Chain security programs, such as AEO, CT-PAT, Export Controls, etc.
• This position leads other areas as dotted line:
• Brazil internal logistic: MPN-BLC receiving, storage and distribution; attachments and components packaging, machines, and components shipments supporting Piracicaba facility.
• Logistics Procurement: Domestic & international transportation contracts, brokers, port & airport terminals contracts and spot quotes.(Piracicaba, Campo Largo, Aftermarket, Gensets, Solar, Perkins and Hose & Reman)
• Inbound & Outbound GMM: international transportation management and projects governance (Piracicaba, Campo Largo and Brazilian suppliers)
Further, this role owns the Continuous Improvement journey for the division, with programs that drive toward improving automation, monitoring, and analytic capabilities.
• Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing, foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
• Execute multiple priorities & business requirements. Develops solutions that best meet the needs of the enterprise, with options to meet differentiated business capabilities as needed.
• Develops & manages budget for area of accountability, as well as freight cost reductions.
• Delivers highly available, leading services through best-in-class service level management practices with the ability to flex with changing business demands.
Basic Qualifications Education: College degree is required.
Language: Pre - Advanced English is required.
Top Candidates Will Have: • Experience in Logistics, Supply Chain Operations, Trade Foreign and Customs Compliance.
• A Lean or Continuous Improvement background.
• An ability to translate between technical and business language, creating a bridge between the support organization and the Caterpillar business they serve.
• Experience as a leader of leaders.
• Advanced level of English.
