Our Metallurgy Technology Centre is expanding!
The NOV Flexibles Technology Centre in Brøndby, Denmark is now expanding to our offices in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to support flexible pipe production at our factories in Kalundborg, Denmark and Porto de Acu, Brazil.
NOV Rio is looking for a Metallurgist who thrives on demanding and challenging tasks.

What the role is
Our tasks and projects expand the boundaries of what's possible with available materials and technologies - and you get to be part of them.
At the same time, you will be responsible for turning your research efforts into tangible results.
Your influence will be felt in nearly every part of the production, from sales, design, manufacturing, and until pipe installation.
On a daily basis, the team works on:
Investigation of reliability and integrity of materials used within flexible pipes.
Providing internal consultancy for materials selection and design rules.
Developing methodologies for materials selection.
Designing tests and consolidating the technology, data, and models on polymer permeation for predicting flexible pipe annulus environment using your software and coding skills (like Python etc).
Developing internal simulation tools used for prediction of the corrosion rate, pH, and environment using knowledge in chemistry, mass transport, and thermodynamics.
In addition, you will also be working with:
Planning and design of your own tests in cooperation with our skilled technicians.
Consolidating test results and creating PowerPoint presentations for our clients based on these results.
Collaborating with clients, suppliers, and third-party verification authorities on a variety of topics within corrosion, materials quality, and selection.
Overall responsible for NOV methodology within Area of Responsibility (AoR).

Jack of all trades, or just a Master of one .

You can expect approximately 10-30 travel days per year to suppliers and clients.
We Expect That You
Qualifications:
Are a chemical or mechanical engineer/materials scientist with solid professional skills and a particular interest in and knowledge of corrosion and electrochemistry.
Are persistent and structured in your approach to any task.
Are good at grasping and handling complex and complicated problems.
Are quite proficient in English, as this is our corporate language.
Enjoy working independently as well as in teams.
