The project:
We are looking for an experienced Senior OpenEdge Developer to join our team and play a key role in enhancing and maintaining our systems during an exciting transition to OpenEdge version 12.8.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with OpenEdge 12 and Progress Application Server for OpenEdge (PAS-OE), providing technical expertise in application development, system migrations, and server configurations.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain applications built on the Progress OpenEdge platform.
Lead the migration and upgrade process from current OpenEdge versions to OpenEdge 12.8.
Configure, deploy, and optimize Progress Application Server for OpenEdge (PAS-OE) to enhance system performance and scalability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define solutions, and ensure seamless integration with other systems.
Perform code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the quality and stability of the applications.
Monitor and fine-tune database and application performance.
Create and maintain technical documentation, including migration plans, configuration details, and development guidelines.
Skills and Qualifications:
Fluent English (both written and spoken) is required, as you will be working with an international team.
Extensive experience with Progress OpenEdge, particularly OpenEdge 12 (real-world experience required).
Expertise in Progress Application Server for OpenEdge (PAS-OE), including configuration and deployment.
Strong knowledge of OpenEdge ABL/4GL programming.
Familiarity with database design and optimization in OpenEdge environments.
Experience with system upgrades, migrations, and performance tuning.
Knowledge of integrations using RESTful APIs or SOAP.
Proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting complex OpenEdge applications.
About the role:
Working hours: 40 hours per week.
Primary location: Remote in Brazil.
