To manage the approval workflow of all local storage facilities and relevant service providers in the country as well as identifying, performing or managing 3rd party performance of site surveys and stock checks. To assist country commercial teams with advice on storage and logistics matters and to support with communications and training on movement, loading and storage of commodity types.
Job Description Along with the below listed responsibilities, the employee should conduct any other business related to the function as required by her or his supervisor.
Promote and embed compliance with the Operational Risk policy in the countryManage the country storage facility and service provider approval workflowsAnalyse country inventory data and exposure at risk & implement necessary actionsIdentify minimum requirement stock checks and ensure trading desks perform and log themPerform site surveys & stock checks throughout the country and manage the process and performance of 3rd party providers of surveys and stock checksIdentify specific supply chain risks, suggest & implement appropriate mitigantsAnalyse and approve service providers of key storage mitigants (CMA/SMA etc) as well as their standard operating proceduresAssist in development of practical supply chain loss prevention initiatives and policiesCoordinate the initiatives with regional OpRisk team membersMaintain relations across commercial and execution/operations teamsManage and escalate country breaches of policyProvide training to country operational/commercial teams on physical commodity risksCoordinate regional team training for the aboveBuild and maintain key relationships with service providers within the countryCoordinate regional OpRisk team entries in Risk Incident Register (RIR)Experiences Physical inspection/surveying background with good all-round commodity knowledgeMinimum 6 years' experience in physical commodity supervision & inspectionSolid knowledge & experience of performing inventory calculation, including manual bulk stockpile volumetric calculations and technical (laser) stockpile volumetric calculation: silo and tank dip test volumetric calculationSolid knowledge of storage requirements for different types of commodity and the key threats posed in store to different commodity typesSolid knowledge & experience of physical risk management & storage mitigants (CMA/SMA/insurance etc)Ability to present & communicate clearly and professionally to a range of stakeholders internallyAbility to build strong relationships across the business & demonstrate diplomatic but firm response to stakeholder push-back where applicableHigh level of common sense, creativity & innovative problem solvingWork & deliver under pressureSelf-starter and able to work independentlyWilling and able to travel up to 50% of the timeSkills Timely approval of storage facilitiesDemonstrable uptake of policy actions in the regions by desksRequired Languages Required Education Degree qualification beneficial but not essential
