Mitsubishi Power is looking for a Senior Project Planner in Barcarena-PA Brazil SUMMARY The Project Planner supports Project Management by providing detailed project schedule planning and monitoring throughout all phases of the entire project cycle from development to operations. The Project Planner is responsible for developing project templates and inputs to Work Breakdown Structure, activity definition, duration and logical ties in conjunction with the project team, including critical path analysis, alternate schedules, and implementing variables into schedule. This role will support construction related planning and scheduling analysis and control activities expected to occur during the EPC Execution phase of the project including: Engineering, procurement and construction schedule development, maintenance, monitoring, impact identification, and recovery planning. EPC phase related reporting and analysis including P6 schedule quality metrics. Support EPC phase planning studies, forecasts, problem solving exercises. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Supports construction schedule development, data analysis, issue resolution, and improvement efforts. Supports efforts to establish and communicate milestones for the procurement phase of the project. Develops EPC phase construction schedule resource loading and leveling and all bulk commodity design and purchase release curves, identifying schedule restraints and complexities. Ensures schedule maintenance and regular reporting. Monitors and reports EPC phase critical path and schedule performance and makes recommendations for improvement. Performs P6 schedule analysis and studies of problem areas to find criticality of schedule activities. Identifies alternatives for EPC schedule improvement for discussion and/or decision, including preparing recovery plans when needed. Integrates interdisciplinary EPC schedule requirements and constraints to establish logical work sequences for assigned disciplines or specialties. Performs project performance monitoring and control functions. Analyzes quantity and cost information and predicts changes and trends. Assists with the preparation and issuance of the monthly project progress report, preparing the schedule deviation report and trend report as needed. Supports quantification and estimates for trends and scope changes and provides feedback to estimating regarding cost trends and lessons learned. Determines EPC critical-path procurement activities and identifies significant activities supporting interdisciplinary requirements. Identifies procurement related critical path. Develops and monitors detailed and summary level engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning schedules. Monitors schedule deviation including subcontractor submittals and recommends corrective action/workaround solutions for project considerations. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (BS) in Engineering, Construction Management or related field from four-year college or university; and Seven (7) to Ten (10) years related experience on industrial construction projects. International business experience desirable. Language Skills: English and Portuguese are required at working level, Spanish appreciated. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions managers and clients. Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Computer Skills: Knowledge of resource loading scheduling software for project management scheduling applications database, project management, spreadsheet and word processing software, electronic mail, graphics, technical diagrams, flow charts, etc. Travel Requirements: Up to 20 % travel required both domestically as well as internationally. Must be able to relocate where projects are executed, including sites located in Brazil and Latin America.
