The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the logistics and transportation operations involving the Middle Mile segment of the supply chain. This role involves managing the movement of goods between distribution centers, fulfillment centers, and other key locations to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement strategies to optimize the Middle Mile supply chain operations.
Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and transportation providers to ensure timely delivery of goods.Monitor transportation costs, performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive efficiency and cost savings.
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including warehouse operations, procurement, and inventory management to streamline operations.
Analyze transportation routes, modes of transport, and delivery schedules to improve service levels and reduce lead times.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in Middle Mile logistics operations.
Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards.
Lead and mentor a team of Middle Mile logistics specialists and coordinators.QualificationsBachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
Proven experience in supply chain management, logistics, or transportation operations, with a focus on the Middle Mile segment.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and supply chain software.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Knowledge of industry best practices, transportation regulations, and market trends in Middle Mile logistics.
Certification in supply chain management or logistics (e.g., CSCMP, APICS) is a plus.
Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is desirable.
