PURPOSE
This position exists to assist develop, implement and maintain the risk management system to effectively manage enterprise risk. Create an environment in which employees behave responsible towards the risks that form part of the work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Policy, Targets, Objectives & Goals
Ensure that the current policies are displayed at all areas of the operation. Provide SHEQ documentation required by the client.
Comply with the objectives, goals and targets set by the company.
Legal Aspects / Requirements
Ensure company practices comply with legal and other requirements falling in the risk management domain.
Ensure submissions of applicable statutory documents.
Ensure that all employees are made aware of the latest legislative requirements.
Establish a working relationship with regulatory bodies (DME, Dept of Labour, etc).
Risk Assessment
Radio communication with the pump station.
Ensure that the necessary risk assessments and action plans are compiled, maintained and reviewed where needed.
Assist and advise operational staff in meeting requirements of the risk management process.
Training
Form part of the training initiatives of the company to improve employees understanding of the risk management systems.
Monitoring and Evaluation
Keep all records as per site requirement (hourly, daily, weekly, monthly.
Compile the necessary planning documents to effectively execute job requirements posed by the risk management domain.
Regularly perform risk audits according to company requirements.
Establish a system to monitor the effectiveness of actions taken on deviation found during audits or continuous risk assessments.
Special Projects.
Establish a Project Plan for each special project
Provide ongoing feedback to management on the project.
Review the project at the end of the project to ensure continual approval.
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate SHEQ related course.
A formal tertiary qualification applicable to the risk domain will be advantageous.
EXPERIENCE
3-5 years of applicable experience will be required.
