About the Role The primary objective of this site-based position is to ensure reliable safe production with a focus on fast loop engineering providing front-line engineering support to the Operations and Maintenance teams in the PNG assets.
It is a critical role in connecting field operations with the offsite maintenance and reliability support organisation and is focused on helping minimise downtime and failure rates and maximise equipment productivity.
Key accountabilities include:
Provide technical advice to stakeholders where failures have occurred or changes to existing instrumentation, control and power distribution systems are contemplated.Carry out troubleshooting and fault finding on complex issues associated with the electrical and instrumentation equipment.Provide support during complex troubleshooting activities and technical support during return to plan scenarios to minimise production risk and downtime.Identify production/operational risks related to the E&I equipment. Support risk assessment and drive risks to closure by rectification, upgrades, etc.Participate in and support failure investigations and root cause analyses. If required, lead 5-whys investigations in the E&I space.Develop and review maintenance procedures to ensure ongoing safe operation and maintenance of equipment in line with legislation and corporate standards.Participate in technical audits and compliance assessments, and follow up on closure of remedial action plans.About YouYour aptitude for practical work, coupled with strong analytical skills is vital for this role, along with:
5 years of experience in electrical, control and instrument equipment engineering.Experience in maintenance management systems.Working knowledge of Reliability Based processes such as RCM.Experience in root cause analysis.Experience with HV and LV equipment and power system analysis software.Essential qualifications include B. Engineering (Electrical or Instrument) and IEPNG Eligibility for Registered Engineer.
