Your Role and Responsibilities Planning, installing, configuring, and implementing zLinux.Installing, migrating, and enabling zLinux.Planning, configuring, and implementing zLinux for continuous availability across planned or unplanned outages of any single hardware or software element.Planning, installing, testing, and implementing zLinux service level upgrades and patches.Planning, monitoring, and implementing configuration changes to enhance zLinux performance.Creating and deploying zLinux LPARS.Installation, configuration, and administration of zLinux.Customizing, patching, and securing zLinux.Planning and implementing support for disaster recovery.Providing technical assistance to IBM CIO programmers.May require rotating 24x7 on-call support responsibility as well as weekend support. Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise Information Technology degree and/or technology certifications preferred or substantial equivalent experience.Experience with building packages.Experience with Bash and other scripting.Knowledge of IBM mainframe technologies including z/VM & zOS.Good communication skills both written and oral are required as the individual must interface with application developers, support teams, software vendors, and management staff.5 – 10 years Red Hat Enterprise Linux engineering experience.IBM zLinux Z Systems Programmer experience.REXX, TCPIP, Web-Interfaces.Experience with building Linux packages.Experience or familiarity with Ansible, OpenShift, Jira, and ServiceNow.
