Software Development Engineer II, Brazil Payments
Work on the Brazil Payments team to enable a wide range of payment options for Amazon customers in Brazil
Develop new payment integrations and enhance existing payment flows to improve the customer experience
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, operations, and other engineering teams to deliver reliable and scalable payment solutions
Mentor junior engineers and continuously improve engineering practices and standards
Key job responsibilities
- Integrate new payment methods (e.g.
local credit/debit cards, digital wallets, bank transfers) into the Amazon platform
- Enhance existing payment flows to optimize conversion, reduce friction, and improve reliability
- Ensure payment systems are highly available, secure, and able to handle growing transaction volumes
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes to maintain quality
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and technical debt
A day in the life
- Work closely with product managers to understand customer needs and translate them into technical solutions
- Collaborate with payment providers and other partners to onboard new payment methods
- Review code changes, provide feedback, and ensure adherence to engineering best practices
- Investigate and resolve production issues, working with the operations team to maintain high availability
- Participate in team meetings to discuss progress, blockers, and future plans

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
