Software Engineer, Java
As a Software Engineer you will help harden solutions for divisions going through a technological as well as organisational transformation.
Working in an R&D with an established internal Technology Platform (Xalt) will allow you to provide a reliable and robust software architecture whilst practicing your already proven skills in software engineering.
The platform helps our internal divisions and teams to interconnect the diverse software platforms and products we have across our company.
You will be working in a cross-culture team with a variety of experienced software engineers and architects.
You should be well versed and have good practical experience in the following topics:
Kubernetes and Kubernetes Operators Containerisation across different platforms, operating systems, and CPU types 5+ years experience in Java, Java Spring boot or similar languages and frameworks Problem solving and a strong analytical mindset Proven use of Docker and containerization across different platforms and operating systems A thorough understanding of microservices and distributed systems CI/CD both the principles Getting from a problem statement to a workable architecture and software design using OOP, OOD, and general software engineering best practices You should have a good understanding of the following topics:
Feature flags, Blue/Green, Canary and Ring release strategies Cloud provider services and capabilities CI/CD both the principles and the experience of setting up a pipeline It would be good if you had some exposure to the following topics:
Best practices and patterns in cloud native transformation and migration Private and Public Clouds Micro-service and Serverless architectures Service Meshes The company has a number of divisions focussed on different areas of business and each of them is developing cloud-based solutions.

The software environment is very diverse, consisting of everything from FPGA Firmware in our own hardware devices to Cloud Native SaaS platforms.
Some of our software has been in use for 30 years and some is on the very edge of AI/ML and AR/VR research.
