Together, we implement new wireless waveforms and protocols to deliver high-performance audio and video streaming at scale for commercial airlines and business jets.
Job Responsibilities
You will work with a technically strong team on important challenges for Viasat.
You will be the Product Owner of one or more various satellite mobile terminals.
Your focus over time will change as the terminal team adds new products and business priorities evolve.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Work out feature requests from other groups, internal customers, and partners
Lead the product roadmap discussion by including stakeholders and experts from various teams
Work regularly with the Sr Mobile Terminals Software Product Owner
Develop the mobile terminal roadmap and prioritize the backlog
Work with the modem software team to communicate priorities and provide technical guidance as well as the Mobility System Engineers and Mobility Integration and System Test team on new software releases
Work with security leads to coordinate on security priorities, roadmaps, and best practices
Work with mobile terminals internal customers and stakeholders to learn and assess business priorities
**Requirements**:
8+ years of experience in software development, systems engineering, or integration and test
2+ years of experience in project engineering, resource management, budget management, and product delivery
Experience with embedded systems, wireless networks, and networking technology and products
Strong team building, collaboration, relationship building skills, and written & verbal communication skills
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple business units
Ability to learn new technologies and comfortable with technical details
Ability to have credible conversations with engineers about technical implementations and product issues
Bachelor's in STEM or equivalent experience
US Citizenship Required
Preferences
Experience with embedded systems, computing platforms, and programming languages
Experience with logging, monitoring, security logging, and visualization systems
Experience with agile methodologies, tools, and modern software development environments
Experience with the complete product life cycle in a production services environment, including design, implementation, load, and scale testing, deployment, and maintenance
Knowledge of software automation and DevOps (CI/CD pipelines, tools, and methods)
Familiarity with various programming languages such as Python, Go, Ruby, Java, and C
Software security background

The pay range for this position is $149650 to $242950 annually; however, base pay may vary within this range depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Additional cash or stock incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
