Find opportunities to join Dow in a capacity that works best for you.At Dow, we believe in putting people first and we're passionate about delivering integrity, respect and safety to our customers, our employees and the planet.Dow has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Sourcing Manager, based in São Paulo, Brazil.About you and this role - What you would do in this roleYou will create value for Dow by defining sourcing opportunities, developing and aligning sourcing strategies, leveraging supplier relationships, analyzing market conditions, and negotiating with suppliers and internal partners to optimize sustained value for Dow. Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge of the discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines. The Strategic Sourcing Manager is accountable for all Latin America bulk marine and terminals category both imports and exports, and intermodal operations in Brazil. Use of leadership and internal selling skills is required to deliver the required results.Responsibilities:Utilizes business acumen and leverages best practices to drive value from the market and influence stakeholders.Responsible for the negotiation, execution and implementation of commercial agreements and related work processes in accordance with the strategies within the commercial area and/or geography.Uses influential leadership to elevate the performance of the workgroup.Develop 3-5 year supply strategies for their assigned portfolio.Assess current supply position.Collect/improve supplier, product, and market information.Identify strategic value savings opportunities.Define implementation plans to deliver value on selected option(s).Communicate and gain alignment with business partners.Appropriately consider supplier diversity.Plan and conduct supplier negotiation per strategy documentation.Define sourcing implementation plans and ensure successful implementation of all new commercial agreements.Manage supplier relationships with strategic suppliers.Executive communications with Dow and with the supplier.Manage business partner communications.Leads or co-leads Purchasing participation on VCTs and/or on specific businesses council.Assess relative risk profile of the business partner related to services supply (assessment).Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree.Fluency in English is mandatory, Spanish is a plus.Proven ability and experience to work with and influence multiple functions and business partners is appropriate for success in the role.At least 7-10 years trade/industrial experience.Preferred Skills:Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines.Solves complex problems.Worldwide interactions within different organization levels.Works independently, receives minimal guidance.May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or may have accountability for on-going activities or objectives.Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.Successful engagement with key internal clients to drive sourcing strategies.Participation of business partners and resources.Development of extensive market/supplier knowledge.Creative options generation with a focus on value and long-term cost of ownership.Use of strategic thinking skills to optimize value for Dow, to solve supply issues or quality problems, to negotiate.Display leadership, teamwork and communication skills with business partners, other functions and with Purchasing assets.Demonstrated ability to solve supply, price and logistics issues under pressure with competing priorities.Maintain appropriate relationship with key stakeholders, internal partners and suppliers.To apply:Sign in or create your account.
