(1) H&S Specialist Operations to support the NAM organisation in the transition of the HS responsibilities to the line.
Coach and mentor site leadership to establish safety ownership through the line, using HS tools and KPIs (TIFs, VPCs, CCRs) to drive the transition.
Facilitating, documenting, and auditing process hazards (PHAs) and Critical Controls, specifically in IOTA business.
Train site leadership in effective Contractor management and check implementation in the field.
Help to drive continuous improvement by identifying safety gaps and develop and help implement actions plans to fill those gaps.
- Safe & Healthy Workplace
Perform site visits, field observations, process confirmations, safety supervision and attend regularly shift/handover/daily operations meetings
Coach and mentor site leadership in their tasks and responsibilities for safety (contractor management, site inspections)
- Risk Assessment
Facilitating, documenting, and auditing process hazards (PHAs) and Critical Controls
Verify use of Last Minute Risk Assessment in the field
Validate SOPs developed by Operations
- Legal Requirements
Verification and organisation of Site Emergency Response plans and exercises
Support in Incident Investigations & reporting under OSHA & MSHA
- Training
Give TIF and VPC bootcamps
Train site leadership is effective Contractor management and how to supervise high risk activities.
Support the roll-out of HS leadership training for supervisors
- Reporting & KPI's
Train and verify the correct reporting in the field of TIFs
Safe & Healthy Workplace
Perform regular inspections, critical process confirmations and safety walks/observations to ensure HS compliance as well as report on findings + propose and coordinate mitigation actions in collaboration with local stakeholders.
Work closely together with regional HS Manager NAM to ensure local HS practices are aligned with the Sibelco HS Strategy, Programs, Standards and Tools.
Verify results and correct where needed the implementation of workplace monitoring programs related to safety induction and contractor management.
Coach and develop a range of stakeholders, from front-line operations leaders to process owners in the thinking, methods, and tools required to achieve expected performance while increasing Employee Engagement
- Risk Assessment
Lead the implementation of Critical Controls program for the business
Implement robust self-assurance and verification of critical controls (VCC) program
- Legal Requirements
Ensure HS compliance according to the federal and state requirements
Verification and organization of Site Emergency Response plans and exercises
Support in Incident Investigations & reporting under OSHA & MSHA
- Training
Support supervisors in delivering all mandatory safety trainings under OSHA and MSHA
Train site leadership on how to supervise high risk activities
Roll-out corporate HS campaigns
- Reporting & KPI's
Train and verify the correct reporting of TIFs, CPCs, action closure on time
Investigate and report HS incidents in accordance with Sibelco Standards and ICAM definitions with Regional HS Manager NAM
- Coaching & influencing
Translate (complex) HS legislation into simple and practical way of working as and ensure implementation by Operational Site Leadership.
Coach, influence and convince Operational Site Leadership (Cluster Director, production managers, operations managers, maintenance managers and supervisors)
Verify that HS training programs are correctly rolled out in their area and verify effectiveness
Focused on behaviors that drive system & way of thinking change
- Continuous Improvement
Identify the need for business support systems, reporting improvement opportunities and training needs.
Identify opportunities for improvements in processes and installations
Ensure Best Practice sharing
- About you:
Bachelor's or Master's degree qualified professional in occupational HS, Industrial Hygiene or related discipline, or equivalent by experience
5+ years prior progressive HS experience is required
English - proficient verbal & writing
Working knowledge of federal and state laws, particularly OSHA or MSHA standards is required
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
Background in the chemical, mining, cement, or petrochemical industries is preferred.
