Specialist, Strategic Sourcing
Job Description:
Overview:
He/she works closely with the regional and local operations teams and with the Procurement Managers for Logistics globally and in the region to drive the efficient and effective implementation of sourcing strategies and manages supplier performance on a day to day basis, acting as the first point of contact for suppliers.The role has no direct reports, however has extensive and influencing responsibilities with internal stakeholders educating to follow process and partner to implement sourcing strategies as well new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Purchase Logistics Services (Global Ocean Transportation) by ensuring price, capacity and service levels in line with commitments to the business and as per the sourcing strategies by applying a wide range of sourcing tools (e.g. negotiation, e-procurement, stakeholder engagement, auctions, etc.).
Implement supply base strategy. Assess and develop suppliers in order to meet business needs and opportunities.
Ensure effective risk management of the supply base, through robust contracts and monitoring financial and service KPIs. Implement corrective actions as appropriate.
Establish & maintain relationships with Finance and Supply Chain Senior Managers – and eventually Directors - and their teams to meet the business needs and to facilitate the appropriate level of challenge.
Seek for stakeholder engagement, working with internal customers.
Comply with policies, systems and controls.
Provide market and financial insights and inputs to the internal sourcing process. Participate in external forums such as VL, DiB, Sufficiency review and others.
Manage all related commercial, financial & ethical requirements / trade offs with the support of the Strategic Operations Managers for Logistics.
Use of the appropriate contracts to cover risks and relevant services.
Regularly maintain & update relevant KPIs e.g. savings, payment terms etc.
Carries out supplier performance reviews on a regular basis for the top suppliers.
Identifies and manages supplier collaboration initiatives (e.g. Supplier Finance, Responsible Sourcing, Electronic invoicing, operational process streamlining, etc).
Job Specifications/Qualifications:
Degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, other.
Fluent in English (English essential, both verbal and in writing)
Experience in Procurement / Supply Chain Functions in multi-national environment.
Contract law knowledge.
SAP knowledge is preferred.
Knowledge/Experience:
Must have strong analytical skills, understand, and anticipate consequences of macro-economic changes on business environment.
Results orientated – comfortable setting and delivering against bold, stretch targets.
Good Business Acumen.
Good communication skills.
Highly effective interpersonal skills.
