Title : SQL Engineer - DBA Location : São José dos Campos, São Paulo, Brazil ( Hybrid ) We are seeking an experienced MSSQL Engineer to join our dynamic and growing team. This role is critical in ensuring operational excellence by maintaining a stable, secure, compliant, and highly available database platform. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mix of hands-on technical skills in automation scripting, solution engineering, platform integration, and database administration. Additionally, experience with Agile project management and effective communication is essential to succeed in this position. The ability to continually adapt, prioritize, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment is paramount. Key Responsibilities: - Utilize in-depth knowledge of day-to-day operations to identify improvement opportunities, leveraging dashboards and real-time data metrics. - Serve as the MSSQL operational Subject Matter Expert (SME). - Execute large-scale Database-as-a-Service projects by automating scripts and optimizing manual processes to enhance speed-to-market and reduce effort/cost. - Design and implement innovative cloud database solutions on AWS, Azure, and traditional IaaS platforms. - Contribute to the long-term service vision, technology strategies, and roadmaps, including conducting proof-of-concept experiments with emerging technologies. - Collaborate with external vendors and participate in Supplier-Enabled Innovation (SEI) engagements to influence product capabilities. - Ensure strict adherence to security, regulatory, and quality standards, and support audit processes. - Partner with external service providers to ensure high standards of talent and services. - Innovate through automation to improve service offerings and capabilities. Qualifications: - BA/BS degree with preference for a STEM-related field. - At least 5 years of relevant technology experience. - Proven management of a 24x7 global support model. - Demonstrated hands-on SQL Server Database Administration experience in a large-scale global organization. - Excellent employee relations and collaborative skills. - Proven track record of innovation, continuous improvement, and customer service orientation. - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage priorities in parallel. - Expertise in working with virtual, global teams of diverse backgrounds and cultures. - Independent judgment, strong decision-making, and problem-solving skills. - Experience with On-premise Cloud and public virtual private Cloud environments. Desired Skills: - Certification in MSSQL or related database technologies. - Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools. - Experience with automation tools and scripting languages. - Knowledge of regulatory compliance and data protection practices. Tools Required: - Proficiency with MSSQL Server and related database management tools. - Experience with cloud services such as AWS and Azure. - Familiarity with automation and scripting tools such as PowerShell, Python, or similar. - Agile project management software such as JIRA or Confluence.
