We're seeking a passionate senior backend engineer who's interested in making a major impact on a cutting-edge scalable SaaS influencer marketing platform. You'll be involved with many aspects of our distributed data back-end systems including: extracting data from various sources (APIs, data stores, files, etc.), scaling our data extraction pipeline and orchestration system, designing data lakes or other relevant data exchange mechanisms, ensuring performance and data quality. You know what it takes to build and grow distributed software systems. You hit the ground running.

ResponsibilitiesWrite high quality code on the backend of our platformOwn feature development from start to finish, including deploymentProactively seek help and feedbackReview the code of your peersContribute to architecture/design decisionsCollaborate with other teams to identify needs and relevant data sourcesContribute to writing user-facing documentationSupport our data lake customers, which may occasionally imply attending customer meetingsRequirements Solid experience with designing and scaling distributed data systemsProficiency writing backend systems using Node.jsOptimizing applications, both stand-alone and in distributed systems to maximize performanceWorkflow orchestration systems such as Apache Argo or AirflowExperience with Python for writing data processing or analysisAbility to leverage REST and GraphQL APIs as well as languages such as PHP and Python, SQL query language for fetching data from other systemsWorking with or developing data lake or warehousing solutionsAWS or similar IaaS cloud servicesDeveloping and deploying on containers (Docker, Kubernetes)Monitoring and alerting systems (statsd, Grafana)Clear and articulated communication both verbally and in writingExperience or deep curiosity for the following would be a plus: Search engines (ElasticSearch a plus)NoSQL DB engines (MongoDB a plus)Event-driven systems using technologies like Apache Kafka and AWS lambdasAMQP Messaging systems (RabbitMQ a plus)Data processing and analytics such as DatabricksInfrastructure-as-code software (Terraform a plus)This position is 100% remote, with the understanding that occasional in-person attendance may be required for training, meetings, and team gatherings, as determined by business needs.
