A senior leader within Mt. Bachelor's marketing team, the Senior Manager of Events and Partnerships will oversee the event and activity experiences along with partnership integrations for Mt. Bachelor and its affiliates, including Sun Country Tours & Woodward Mountain Parks.
Management of the events and partnerships department will fall under the purview of the Senior Manager of Events and Partnerships, who will engage with partners and stakeholders to create engaging events and activations - at the mountain, in the community and in regional markets. This position will work closely with members of POWDR's experiential team to enhance programming in order to grow visitation from local and regional families year-round, maximize ancillary spend opportunities, and drive brand loyalty.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities
Experiential Programming Planning & Execution
Develop new events, experiential programming, and activation ideas to enhance the guest experience and maximize partner involvement.
Work closely with the Director of Marketing & Communications to develop robust marketing campaigns to support event and partnership priorities and ultimately drive visitation and engagement.
Continually audit and evaluate existing events & activations to confirm relevance and effectiveness.
Manage the Events Manager & Supervisor, who oversee the events crew, to ensure that day-to-day event operations are executed as planned and on-budget.
Maintain positive and effective working relationships with Mt. Bachelor managers and department heads; communicate and collaborate with the food & beverage, mountain operations, base operations and other relevant departments to maximize event & programming opportunities resort-wide.
Work with the Mt. Bachelor marketing team to generate ideas for regional-market activations, such as trade shows and shop sales events; plan, manage and execute all aspects of these regional activations.
Budget expenses for and negotiate trade deals to acquire activity-relevant merchandise to be used for event prizes and giveaways.
Partnership Relations
Oversee the Partnership Specialist role.
Act as primary Mt. Bachelor liaison with the POWDR experiential team and POWDR partner representatives.
Prepare sponsor/partner post-activation reports as requested.
Assist the POWDR experiential team in preparing new partner or new activation proposals by providing information upon request, such as date availability, resource needs, and cost considerations.
Collaborate and ideate with partners on new ideas to bring to life at Mt. Bachelor.
Local Community Engagement
Identify local partners and maintain/grow relationships in the community in the events, programming and activation areas.
Work with the Director of Marketing & Communications on community sponsorship and event strategy.
Develop ideas and implement community events that "strengthen the Bend connection" to Mt. Bachelor and help elevate Mt. Bachelor as a year-round destination for adventure.
Specific Job Skills and Requirements
3-5 years in an event management role.
Ski industry experience strongly preferred.
Deep proficiency in budget and labor management.
Advanced skillset in Microsoft Office Suite, deck building, etc.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Passion and excitement for leadership and creating new event programs.
Salary range for position: $80-$85k/year (DOE)
Minimum Age Requirement: 21
