JOB PURPOSE

As a SR. Market Intelligence Analyst, you will be responsible for keeping a close watch on global movements in the commodities markets and offer more than "just information". The main purpose is to produce high value content based on qualitative and quantitative analysis. Through reports, market calls, posts on social media, meetings, and media exposure, you will be responsible for adding value to our customers' risk management agenda. This position will be in contact directly with our global team providing data analysis and market insights to bridge Supply & Demand fundamentals with our Business Strategies of Risk Management. We expect you to become a reference in the market and inside Hedgepoint for Cocoa. Inside our team, the SR. Market Intelligence Analyst will also be responsible for assisting Intern in his day-to-day activities as a reference, contributing to their development.
KEY ACTIVITIES
Manage Supply & Demand database – mainly Cocoa, secondarily Sugar and Coffee as a backup of current specialists in the team.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of data sources, evaluating their credibility and potential utility.
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of Cocoa market and trends through reading reports, market research, data manipulation and statistical modelling and analysis.
Elaborate reports and market presentations.
Participate in market calls and other meetings with a global team.
Assist the global team with new analysis, materials, and other content developments.
Produce content for digital materials (posts on social media, webinars/events to discuss market fundamentals and perspectives adding value to the business).
Participate in interviews and other types of media exposure.
Assist Intern in his day-to-day activities being their main reference for Cocoa.
PROFILE
QUALIFICATIONS
Education (Degree / Area)
B.S. or higher in Economics, Engineering, or correlated areas.
Experience (Junior, Senior, Leader)
Previous experience in Market Intelligence.
Knowledge (Specification, System, Regulation, Techniques, etc)
Solid understanding of commodities markets.
Strong experience and knowledge in managing Supply & Demand database.
Capability of translating data into executable and effective reports and market presentations.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Essential:
Advanced knowledge in Excel and PowerPoint.
Knowledge in statistical modelling.
Preferred:
Knowledge of R and/or Python.
BEHAVIOURAL SKILLS
Essential:
Ability to network effectively at all levels without direct management oversight.
Communication skills; storytelling ability, and strategical thinking.
Ability to articulate with strong presentation skills and to contribute to executive-level discourse.
Able to operate within a team environment.
Preferred:
Ability to manage multiple projects.
LANGUAGE:
Essential:
Advanced knowledge in Portuguese and English (verbal and written).
Preferred:
Spanish will be a differential.
