**Where you fit in**
Shell is one of the largest gas producers in Brazil.
Shell Energy Brazil is responsible for monetizing and optimizing Shell´s domestic gas and LNG assets in the country.
It manages a portfolio of equity and third party gas to bring greater value to Shell and the market.
As Brazil is a heartland for Shell´s powering progress strategy, the company intends to invest between R$2-3bln in renewable energy in the country.
Shell Energy Brazil unlocks the value of the synergies between the two commodities.
The origination team is made up of 12+ people in Rio and São Paulo.
**What is the role?
**
Originate and conclude deals in the gas and/or power segment that are aligned with the company strategy.
This entails negotiating contracts in the regulated and free gas and/or power markets.
The originator creates positions that Shell can optimize and explores deals that explores the synergies between gas and power.
As an Originator, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Originate, mature, and commercially lead opportunities for Shell Energy Brazil gas and with NPV
- Contribute to initiating and developing gas and/or power marketing opportunities with customers and/ or government bodies framing the project in adherence with Shell strategy and customer needs
- Develop integrated Gas/LNG to power solutions
- meeting the demands of the market and customers
- whilst creating value for SEB
- Support the development process for any field development with potential to export gas to market
- Support the development process for any Offshore Wind or Solar development by anchoring positions with PPAs (long or short term)
- Represent Shell Energy in the various commercial and technical committees for future developments
- Lead negotiations with external customers & partners
- Either oversee the set up or set up and lead multifunctional and geographically diverse deal teams consisting of 10+ members
- Support and progress internal deal mandates managing inputs from all functions (Finance, Legal, P&T, STASCO, Operations, GR, ER etc) to ensure project delivery vices
**Requirements**:
**What we need from you**
- Must have legal authorization to work in the Brazil on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
- Minimum of ten to fifteen (10 - 15) years of experience in downstream industries, commercial, trading, transportation, local distribution, banks or any work-related field
- Bachelor's degree is required
- Strong commercial experience developing businesses and/or experience in the gas/power market
- Strong commercial track record originating and delivering gas and/or power deals
- Negotiation and deal lead experience
- Knowledge of relevant agreements (e.g., Gas sales and purchase agreements, gas supply agreements, pipeline capacity agreements, Power Purchase Agreements, joint development and joint venture agreements, technical service agreements, etc.)
- Extensive network within the gas and/or power industry
- Understanding of Trading businesses
