Job summary
This role will be a critical leader within the Local Content Strategy team and will the main point of contact with the Global Programming Strategy team.
This position will be the conduit between Global and local programming decisions and will establish mechanisms and best practices for this function in conjunction with local leadership.
Effective cross-functional collaboration within the Programming Strategy verticals and across Marketing, Finance, and Content teams (Originals and licensing) is crucial to the success of this role.
Key job responsibilities
- Build the most Customer-Obsessed local content portfolio and calendar, aiming to delight customers and drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention to reach service goals;
- Provide strategic recommendations based on data on content acquisition and commissioning of new titles that can best activate priority customers in order to grow the PV base and feed the Prime flywheel in Brazil;
- Shepherding portfolio and title programming strategy, highlighting our audience and content needs across a 5-year horizon;
- Scaling tools and mechanisms (audience targeting models, portfolio optimization) developed from the central team and adapting for local needs;
- Implement and adhere to Global tenets and mechanism to ensure alignment with Global calendars and strategies;
- Representing the voice of its markets' programming on "global" content and release date decisions coming out of our US-based production factory;
- Keep track of budget's constraints and guidelines when providing inputs to stakeholders.
About the team
The BR Content Strategy team owns the strategic perspective on overall programming and scheduling across originals and licensing for Prime Video in Brazil.
The group builds the portfolio and schedules originals and licensed programs to drive service-level customer acquisition, engagement, and retention.
The team focus on audience needs, while being responsible not only for building a release calendar, but also acquiring local content and influencing Amazon Studios Creative team's decisions.
The main goal is to close content gaps over a three-year horizon, and mechanizing licensing or other outputs in the case we have near-term shortfalls.
