Project Description
Our client, a leading SaaS home inspection platform, with a 7-year track record of helping home inspectors build successful businesses through their world-class inspection software is looking for a Sr Platform Engineer to work on cutting-edge technology, solve complex problems, and have a direct impact on our client´s company's success.
The Sr. Platform Engineer will be the go-to person for maintaining and improving the entire tech infrastructure. Our client is looking for more than just a technical wizard, a visionary who can see the big picture, and a problem-solver who thrives on challenges. An exceptional communicator who will be the bridge between complex systems and people, translating abstract technical challenges into clear, actionable insights. Ability to listen, understand, and articulate solutions will be just as crucial as your technical skills.
The reason empathy and communication is such an important skill in this job is that your customer will be the engineering team. Your goal is to help keep the app stable, while making the entire dev teams lives easier. This can't be done without excellent cross-functional communication and a deep understanding of your customer.
Role & Responsibilities
Collaborate daily with our client´s dev team to troubleshoot issues and streamline their workflow
Monitor system performance and implement optimizations to keep the platform running smoothly
Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, like migrating to newer versions of Ruby or Postgres
Work on automating repetitive tasks to increase overall team efficiency
Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions to ensure best practices are followed
Communicate technical concepts and project statuses to both technical and non-technical team members
Responsibilities
Supercharge our client´s dev team by creating an unparalleled developer experience
Implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
Architect and implement robust, scalable systems for performance monitoring and observability
Lead major upgrades and migrations, including Ruby and Postgres, ensuring seamless transitions
Optimize our cloud infrastructure across Heroku, AWS, and Google Cloud
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement performance improvements
Stay ahead of industry trends and bring innovative ideas to our tech stack
Requirements
Must have:
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Platform, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineer
At least 5 years of professional experience with DevOps with Linux/Docker/CI/CD
Expert-level knowledge of Ruby on Rails and Postgres
Proven experience with cloud platforms (Heroku, AWS, Google Cloud)
Strong background in performance optimization and scalability, creating efficient, maintainable, and scalable systems
Advanced level of English and ability to communicate concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to have:
Experience with mobile app development (Flutter) is a plus
Keep learning new technologies and staying ahead of industry trends.
Previous experience with US companies is a plus
