Position: 24152 Position: Sr. Streaming Developer (Flink, Kafka, Java, Remote) Position Type: Contract (6-12 month extendable) No. of Positions: 2 Location: Canada (Remote) Organization As a Senior Streaming Developer working with VTRAC Consulting, you will join a dynamic team dedicated to designing and developing high-performance data solutions that support various client projects remotely. Your expertise in streaming data platforms will empower data scientists, quants, and traders to derive actionable insights from complex data sets. Responsibilities Design and build a scalable, low-latency, and fault-tolerant streaming data platform that empowers users to extract meaningful and timely insights. Develop next generation Distributed Streaming Data Pipelines and Analytics Data Stores using frameworks like Flink, Spark Streaming, and others. Construct platforms that facilitate the gathering, collection, storage, real-time processing, and serving of data to end users and decision-making systems. Drive the adoption of the Big Data Analytics platform as part of the larger data strategy. Stay updated with emerging data management technologies, industry trends, and best practices. Conduct peer reviews of other developers' technical work. Utilize analytical skills to filter, prioritize, and validate complex, technical, or business information from multiple sources. Identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality. Qualifications: Minimum 6 years in application or data development. Minimum 3 years of Java development. Minimum 2 years of experience with Apache Kafka. Minimum 1-2 years of effective use of Apache Flink. Minimum 2 years of experience in streaming technologies. Hands-on production experience with distributed stream processing frameworks such as Kafka, Spark Streaming, and Storm. Experience with deployment platforms like Kubernetes Proven capability in building robust, fault-tolerant data pipelines that process unorganized and messy data into organized databases or data sources. Solid design and development background with an understanding of micro-services and distributed architectures. Proficiency with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, Sybase) and non-relational databases (Cassandra, MongoDB). Practical experience in performance tuning and optimization, bottleneck problem analysis. Excellent communication skills for interfacing with trading and sales functions. Working knowledge of Java and/or Python. Understanding of enterprise integration patterns. Must Haves Apache Flink Apache Kafka Java (Candidates with .NET experience considered if they have significant Flink and Kafka experience) Nice to Haves Scala Experience with collaboration tools such as JIRA and Bitbucket.
