We're looking for a talented and passionate Staff Game Engineer to join Wildlife's Live Games Tech Team in Brazil.As a Staff Game Engineer, you will report to the Technical Director of the game and play a key role in one of our largest live games, played by millions of people. You will participate in the full cycle of game development, making core decisions such as the overall software architecture and technology stack. Additionally, you will be involved in the design and implementation of all technical aspects of the game, such as gameplay mechanics, metagame logic, and game world economy, both in the mobile app and on the server. You will guide other engineers in solving technical challenges, collaborate with the project tech lead to raise the technical bar of projects, and share your technical knowledge across the team. You won't have direct reports and will be an individual contributor, allowing you to focus on technical challenges.What you'll doYou will set the overall software architecture of new game projects and features;You will collaborate on key technical decisions and validate engineering projects for the game;You will design software, implement, and write tests for metagame business logic on the game app and services, including API development;You will estimate engineering tasks, plan roadmaps, releases, and sprints for the team;Provide transparent development status and risks to stakeholders;Identify and propose improvements to processes;You will help solve technical issues in the game, coach junior engineers, and establish a strong engineering culture;You will identify inefficiencies in engineering processes and propose solutions;Contribute to a strong engineering culture including code review, pair programming, architecture reviews, and automated tests;Ship new versions, supervise metrics, and user feedback after release;What you'll need5+ years of software development experience;Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent;Experience in large-scale systems (millions of users);Plus: experience in the gaming industry, particularly mobile gaming;More about youPassionate about software development and ensuring quality;Motivated by building backend services and knowledgeable about different architectures;Experience with DevOps culture;Creative problem solver, continuously seeking process improvements;Effective communicator, able to identify issues and demands;Autonomous in recognizing priorities and evaluating outcomes.About WildlifeWildlife is a leading mobile game developer and publisher, with over 60 titles reaching billions globally.
