Position OverviewAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Student Advisor to join a leading private higher education institution at their Stellenbosch campus. The Student Advisor will be responsible for driving new business growth, fostering positive relationships with prospective students, and guiding them through the enrollment process. This role will also involve providing information on qualifications, entrance requirements, subject selection, career paths, financial options (including scholarships and student loans), accommodation, and equipment.
Key Role: Sales and implementation of the total marketing process to achieve set targets, including school presentations, student interviews, and outreach to prospective students. The role is performance-based with a lucrative commission structure.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales Performance & Productivity: Sales planning, target tracking, and reporting.Customer/Market Management: Market and competitor insights.Relationship Building: Establish and nurture relationships with prospective students and their families. Regular follow-ups to address queries and maintain interest.Collaboration with Secondary Education Providers: Conduct career guidance presentations and attend annual Sales and Marketing events.Database Management: Ensure collected data is accurately captured in CRM.Engagement with Prospective Students: Interact through phone calls, emails, chats, and in-person meetings to drive applications and registrations.Program Presentation: Present the institution's offerings and value proposition to prospective students.Product Knowledge: Stay updated on programs, courses, accreditations, and industry trends.Career Guidance: Conduct personalized interviews to understand student needs and align them with appropriate programs.Sales Skills: Apply persuasion, negotiation, and solution-selling techniques.Financial Assistance: Advise on bursary, loan, and funding options.Reporting: Regularly report sales activities to management.Travel Requirements: Travel to various provinces (Western Cape, Northern Cape, Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal) for outreach.General RequirementsOwn car and driver's license (essential).Confident personality with strong communication and problem-solving skills.Experience in an educational sales role with a strong understanding of the South African education landscape.Proven sales record, ideally in the education sector or a similar consultative sales environment.Public speaking and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with diverse audiences.Strong negotiation and persuasive abilities.Ability to manage relationships with students, sponsors, and educational partners.High empathy and organizational skills to manage multiple leads and tasks effectively.Fluency in English; additional languages are advantageous.Familiarity with CRM software and sales tools (Excel, Gmail).General Competencies/Behavioral AttributesSelf-motivation and regulation.Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Team player with the ability to work independently.Ability to work under pressure and meet targets.Strong problem-solving skills.Minimum RequirementsBachelor's degree or significant experience in Sales, Marketing, Business, or a related field.ExperienceMinimum 3-5 years of educational sales experience.RemunerationThe successful candidate's current package will be taken into consideration, and a competitive base salary will be offered along with a lucrative commission structure. All travel, accommodation, and sustenance expenses related to career expos will be reimbursed by Open Window.
