Job Summary: The Systems Engineer is a senior role that will lead the deployment of complete, integrated systems, combining the client's products with additional hardware technologies to meet customer requirements.
This role involves close collaboration with project teams, customer requirement analysis, system architecture design, and deployment oversight.
The Systems Engineer will also participate in Factory and System Acceptance Testing with customers and oversee the full system lifecycle from planning through deployment and integration.

Primary Responsibilities: System Design & Integration: Define system software and hardware requirements, coordinate design, integration, and testing tasks, and manage seamless transitions to customer deployment.
Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including design documents, requirement matrices, and system diagrams, to ensure thorough project planning and execution.
Customer Engagement: Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing, oversee customer site deployment, and execute System Acceptance Testing with customer stakeholders.
Configuration & Maintenance: Manage and document system configurations, and perform performance and reliability analysis on the end-to-end protocol.
Technical Leadership: Support the Systems Engineering team, provide training and mentorship to junior engineers, and support protocol revisions under the guidance of the Regional Systems Engineering Manager.
Knowledge & Support: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of enterprise transit applications (such as BusTime and CleverCAD) and provide troubleshooting support for hardware, network, and protocol issues.
Qualifications: Experience: 5-10+ years in engineering development and systems engineering, specifically involving hardware, software, data, or communications technologies.
Experience with Transit Technology is highly preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in J1939 and J1708 protocols, as well as with multiplex systems.
Strong hardware design and troubleshooting abilities, including familiarity with lab equipment and electrical schematics.
Experience with network and protocol troubleshooting tools.
Proficiency in C, C++, SQL, VB, JavaScript, HTML, ASP, Python, and database management.
Documentation & Communication: Strong ability to gather, document, and define requirements, design specifications, and product definitions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, and Project.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Engineering required; a Master's Degree in a related field is preferred.
Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, and excellent communication abilities.
