Job Duties and Qualifications
PhD in Engineering, Natural Sciences or similar disciplines is preferred, although a Masters in Science and/or Engineering with sufficient experience is acceptable.
This position is for a potential leadership career path.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Applies theories, principles and practices to the research and development of new and improved products, processes, and procedures.
Documents progress in laboratory notebooks, reports, procedures, and designs.
Communicates frequently with Senior Scientists and occasionally with Technical Client Personnel.
Responds as directed by Senior Scientists and Team Leaders to customer's needs.
When acting as project manager, independently prepares and coordinates the execution of detailed project plans being accountable for performance according to plan.
Resolves critical/controversial issues.
The Expertise we are looking for:
Intermediate knowledge of Python or similar languages in a scientific research context (e.g.
MatLab, R) is required.
Acoustic science knowledge is desired.
Demonstrated leadership ability is desired.
Technical knowledge/skills:
Advise developers and/or lead the development and testing of software products by providing production ready code.
May provide field support for developed software products.
Prepares technical training materials, makes technical presentations, and trains other presenters as called upon to facilitate technology transfer.
Demonstrates innovation by contributing inventions, patents, or new designs/techniques, which are regarded as major advances in the field.
Participates in and contributes to professional societies through technical papers, officer positions, committee memberships, distinguished lecturer, etc.
