Trane Technologies is looking to recruit a
LATAM Indirect Tax Technology Manager , based in Mexico to join its Global Indirect Tax Technology Team.
The manager will lead the Tax Technology practice in the region and will interact with key stakeholders for the implementation of Tax systems in LATAM, such as Vertex O Series, OneSource, and Oracle R12.
The manager will also implement innovative solutions for indirect Tax compliance across the LATAM region such as the Sovos compliance software, as well as other data analytical and reconciliation solutions.
This position will report to the Global VAT & Tax Technology leader.

Where is the work:
This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule (3 or more days onsite per week) based out of Naucalpan Office.
What you will do:
Leading the LATAM Technology practice, focusing on VAT and indirect tax systems in LATAM and being a key back-up to the Global Tax Technology Leader for any Indirect Tax Strategic Technology matters.
Responsibility for the LATAM Tax Technology aspects of the Oracle R12 / Tax engine's implementation (i.e.
Vertex O Series and OneSource), leading the efforts for jurisdictions such as Mexico, Brazil, and other jurisdictions in the region.
Ensuring all aspects of Indirect Taxes are covered in the roll-out of the phases of Oracle R12 / Tax engines in LATAM including but not limited to:
Indirect tax requirements gathering.
Solution design / fit-gap analysis with existing platform.
Support of the technical resources for the build.
Design testing scenarios and take responsibility for the testing.
Provide training on the solution.
Assist cut-over and troubleshooting exceptions.
Maintenance of the production systems, including developing, implementing, and managing the appropriate processes and performing any tasks relating to the maintenance / update of the systems, as well as troubleshooting tax issues in conjunction with the other stakeholders.
Key Lead for the deployment of compliance tools and solutions for LATAM, such as Sovos or Thomson Reuters solutions, etc.
Implementing any new LATAM Indirect Tax Technology requirements and leading projects on any new Tax digitization requirements in LATAM such as e-invoicing and other real-time reporting requirements (CFDI, e-reports, etc.).
Implementation of best practices in terms of systems and processes for cross-functional projects.
Establish good working relationships with all stakeholders both in tax (Global tax technology, corporate tax SMEs) and outside tax (Finance, Business, Oracle core team, etc.).
What you will bring:
Preferably a master's degree in Economics, Finance, or IT.
A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience with large-scale Tax Technology projects and deployments in a multinational environment.
Prior experience with Vertex O Series, OneSource, or Avalara Tax engines - a Vertex or Thomson Reuters Certification is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of Oracle ERP and SQL and/or PL/SQL required.
Knowledge of analytical and reconciliation tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, Dataiku.
Strong knowledge of the LATAM Indirect Tax legislations (i.e.
VAT and other systems), especially the Mexican VAT system.
Team player with excellent analytical skills as well as interpersonal and communication skills.
Very organized, systematic, process-driven person.
Hands-on, problem solver, result-oriented, and focused on customer satisfaction.
Ability to manage and work independently on competing assignments.
Fluent in Spanish and English, and any other language such as Portuguese is an asset.
