This self-contained clinical team assumes responsibility for directly providing needed treatment, rehabilitation, clinical intervention, and support services to identified clients with severe and persistent mental illnesses; supervises and evaluates the multidisciplinary team in conjunction with appropriate psychiatric support to ensure service excellence and courteous, helpful, and respectful services to program clients; and functions as a practicing clinician on the team.Hours /SalaryFull-time, exempt position. Anticipated hiring range is $89,440-$104,000 annually. OR you may copy and paste this link into your browser:https://recruiting.paylocity.com/recruiting/jobs/All/1e43d805-64eb-4f13-bba2-3b8d7afc6be0/Transitions-Mental-Health-AssoResponsibilities and Duties:Direct the day-to-day administrative operations of the Santa Maria FSP team including scheduling staff work hours to assure appropriate coverage for day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts and on-call hours; lead the daily organizational staff meetings and treatment planning meetings; continuously evaluate the status of clients and do appropriate planning and coordination of treatment activities to ensure immediate attention to their changing needs.Direct and coordinate the client admission process and treatment, rehabilitation, and support services of the program in coordination with the psychiatrist. Schedule the admission interview; develop and coordinate the initial assessment and initial treatment plan; assign the most appropriate staff to the individual treatment team (ITT); and provide administrative supervision of the development of the comprehensive assessment and the treatment plan for each client.Direct and coordinate, for each client, the comprehensive assessment of psychological history (e.g. onset, course and effect of illness, past treatment and responses, and risk behaviors), mental status, and diagnosis; physical health and dental health; use of drugs or alcohol; education and employment; social development and functioning; activities of daily living (e.g. self-care, living situation, nutrition, money management); and family structure and relationships.Seek trainings in proven systems of service delivery for self and staff as appropriate such as Trauma Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, Co-occurring Disorders, DBT, CBT and facilitate ongoing discussion and education with team members to promote a learning environment.Ensure that the program is providing culturally competent services to culturally diverse clients and their families.Work effectively with team members that have self-disclosed as having lived experience with mental health and/or drug and alcohol abuse.Promote, encourage and maintain trauma-informed practices in all services and activities. Practice and promote, both individually and in team meetings, TMHA's Collaborative Communication Guidelines in order to facilitate clear, empathetic and person-centered communication.Participate in clinical and administrative meetings and trainings in conjunction with Behavioral Wellness and other community partners. Facilitate ongoing communication and develop and maintain a collaborative relationship with community agencies.Participate in staff and volunteer recruitment, interviewing, hiring, work assignments, and orientation and performance supervision according to work rules, regulations, and policies and collective bargaining agreements; develop and implement staff orientation and training; and manage student training.Set up and maintain appropriate Santa Maria FSP headquarters with suitable furniture, office equipment, and telephone lines, directly or by delegation.Develop and administer the program budget including line items to purchase necessary furniture, equipment, communications devices (e.g. telephones, cellular phones), and supplies and to cover travel and transportation (e.g., purchase or lease program cars, or cover mileage and insurance for use of personal staff vehicles or both).Supervise medical records management assuring maintenance of the medical record in compliance with agency policies, Medi-Cal, and other third-party payment requirements; train staff on medical record requirements; regularly review client assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes written by the staff; and supervise individual staff for medical record and documentation proficiency.Carry out and document quality-assurance activities and reviews of use of program services in partnership with the TMHA QA department.Develop and maintain program policies and procedures and revise as necessary.Comply with BWell department policies and procedures that apply to documentation requirements, and required SB County trainings requirements.Follow TMHA and BWell policies and procedures for maintaining medication room and medication standards and practices.Meets note review requirements as set by BWell.Must progress towards licensure per BWell re-credentialing policy if license eligible.Initiate and maintain relationships, in coordination with other staff, law-enforcement, medical providers, other human services agencies, informal community resources (e.g., landlords, employers), and key BWell staff.Conduct clinical assessments and provide direct clinical treatment if eligible, and rehabilitation, and support services to clients.Perform on-call duty for crisis intervention and for staff supervision and consultation.Provide BBS clinical supervision if qualifies and if there is a need within the Santa Maria FSP team.Monitor and report on outcomes monthly and work with performance outcomes specialist to ensure tracking is in alignment with outcomes required.All other duties as assigned.Job Environment:Moderate, physical activity and frequent driving; may include moving or lifting up to 50 lbs.Involves moderate risks that require safety precautions and the risk of exposure to potentially intense situations.Minimum RequirementsNon-Clinical candidates: Must have a Bachelor's degree and 2 years experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role. OR Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work AND two years full-time related experience with individuals experiencing mental illness, substance abuse issues and/or homelessness PREFERRED. Clinical candidates: Must have a BBS licensure or registered associate progressing towards licensure. Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role. Project development experience. Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative work style and strong oral, written, and communication skills. Well defined organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and flexibly. Ability to handle intense situations, display good judgment and decision making skills, and remain calm and clearheaded under pressure. Ability to work well within a team and maintain a professional, respectful attitude in the workplace. Ability to be willing to work with supervisor oversight and direction. Ability to possess and maintain good physical and mental health. Attendance is an essential function of this job that requires face-to-face interaction with clients and/or other employees. Must use reasonable precaution in the performance of one's duties and adhere to all applicable safety rules and practices while acting in such a manner as to assure at all times, maximum safety to one's self, fellow employees, clients, and other persons contacted through TMHA business. Conditions of employment include: Must be at least 18 years of age; possess a valid CA Driver's License, at least 2 years driving experience, reliable transportation, proof of auto insurance, and DMV driving record that meets TMHA's current vehicle insurance requirements. May be required to utilize personal vehicle and auto insurance. Must comply with a TB assessment (possibly a TB test if needed to confirm a negative tuberculosis result) and receipt of a criminal record clearance through fingerprinting. Must be able to successfully complete First Aid and CPR training.
