As Technical Lead you will plan, direct, and coordinate the technical activities of complex and large projects. You work closely together with the Project Management, Engineering&Technology Management, Team Leaders, Directors, and project execution team to deliver according to contract scope, time, and quality. You will have focus on setting goals, clarifying interfaces and you coordinate the work of others while taking responsibility for relevant decisions and risks, technical as well as commercial. You maintain a flexible approach in order to do what is necessary and you represent the company both externally and internally as a partner of trust.The role of Technical Lead is for the experienced engineer consistently demonstrating a high level of value creation, proactive attitude and both technical and leadership competences.You will be part of the newly formedTechnical Management Department which works Cross Atlantic, providing technical management to all parts of the executing organization. Bridging the Clients requirements across the NOV Organization to generate value.Administrative:Identify/comply with milestones and drivers for the project in collaboration with the Project ManagerDetermine and plan necessary activities/resources in collaboration with the Project Manager, Engineering&Technology Managers, Team Leaders and plannersEffectively communicate with project team, management and with client (both internally and externally)Motivate and involve project team in complex technical issues, meetings, sub-suppliers etc.Coordinate task forces for critical topics, being the focal point for external communication towards the client.Technical:Serve as the technical point-of-contact for designated projectsOutline detailed scope of work (including Variation Orders)Be aware of relevant standards, contract, client specifications, requirements, and qualificationsFocus on the external/internal interfaces and coordinate/ensure that technical information is obtained and agreed with client according to project scheduleEnsure coherent and consistent technical solutions across engineering departmentsIdentify and manage risk with respect to technical topics and schedule for engineering, procurement, and productionAnswer or coordinate client queries/presentations with teamMonitor technical project activities to assure costs and gross margins are met.Qualifications:Desirable minimum of 7 years of experience as engineer for some years within the company's technical areasProven experience within oil and gas industry (preferably within the flexible pipe industry)Knowledge about flexible pipe design and manufacturing processExperience with technical coordination of complex projects towards the end-customerFluent in written and spoken English and PortugueseKnowledge and understanding of API 17J, 17B & 17L standards.
