Description:As a Senior Platform Engineer, you'll be part of an early-stage startup that is building a unified developer platform. Guidepad is a Platform-as-Data (PaD) tool that allows teams to efficiently develop, specify, deploy, and maintain complex systems at scale. Guidepad provides several key tool sets and modular abstractions for defining entity schemas, infrastructure, services, permission boundaries, and API operations as data, enabling a suite of low-code/no-code interfaces. A bundled workflow management system serves as a foundation for building automations across systems, whether the domain is ML/AI pipelines, DevOps, or ETL. Finally, Guidepad features native RBAC controls in a centralized Operations API, ensuring that clients and internal services are only permitted to perform operations within their applicable scope of work.We're looking for an individual who also enjoys mentoring teammates and leveraging your experience to increase the productivity of other engineers.Main Characteristics we're looking for:· 5+ years of experience writing high-quality production Python code.· Experience building high-performance distributed systems at a large scale (the more battle scars, the better)· Strong cloud skills· Strong knowledge of low-level operating system foundations (Linux kernel, file systems, containers, etc.)· Experience with performance engineering (tell us a story of when you shaved off a few milliseconds!)· Knowledgeable in the tools and techniques vital to designing automated deployments.· Experience with Configuration Management and Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Ansible)Other characteristics of the candidate we're looking for:Value close collaboration with product and designPrefer iterating quickly with modern DevOps and Agile processesPassionate about building high quality code and engineering cultureExperience working with backend web frameworks and technologies.Experience working across microservices and understanding interactions between servicesExperience with some of the many other technologies that we work with, such as Kubernetes, Typescript, Node.js, GraphQL, Apache Beam, PostgreSQL, and Elasticsearch
