Content Designer We're looking for a Content Designer for one of our awesome clients. Their mission is to power global travel for everyone, everywhere.As a Content Designer in their team, you'll help achieve that mission by contributing to the tone, structure, and narrative flow of content across product experiences. You're perfect for this role if you're a blend of systems thinker, storyteller, and UX writer. You're an enthusiastic craftsperson keen to create product-content experiences that are clear, helpful, and human.You identify user needs and find the right content to meet those needs using logic, hard data, and customer empathy to inform your language and stylistic choices. You don't need to educate teammates about the value you bring as a content designer; you show it through your curious spirit and your approach to craft, communication, and multi-disciplinary collaboration.What you'll doReporting to a Director of User Experience Design and working in a small, fast-moving product/tech/design pod, you'll help drive the content strategy and the approach to content design for transactional product communications — including push, SMS, email, CRM, and in-product messaging.You'll also be part of a larger UX design team that includes other content designers, so you'll participate in crits and have access to tools, insights, and frameworks shared across content design discipline. Apply comprehensive, customer-focused approaches to drive content design in your product area. Use human-centered design methods to design, craft, and test content solutions that address real customer challenges and business goals.Orchestrate a clear and compelling voice and tone across complex product areas and multi-channel transactional communications. Identify and use scalable frameworks (e.g., matrixes and other structured documentation) to tackle structural problems with product content. Design content solutions to improve systems, overcome technical constraints, and reduce content debt.Apply UI frameworks, modularity, localization, reuse, and related concepts to design content solutions that scale. Use both qualitative and quantitative insights and business analytics to drive content insights and solutions. Partner across teams to improve the accessibility, inclusion, readability, and translatability of product content.Who you areWe realize that content design is constantly evolving, and we know that no two people enter this field through the same path. We're not expecting you to be a specialist in everything listed here, but we do ask that you demonstrate expertise commensurate with the job level in whichever methods you apply.We're also looking for people who will contribute frameworks to our growing team and our design system, so we're excited to see how you scale your thinking!Minimum RequirementsBachelor's degree or equivalent experience in core skills such as UX Content Design, Human-Centered Design, Content Audits and Analysis, Information Architecture, and Storytelling. (This is not a Brand or Marketing role.)Demonstrated native-level US English fluency in UX writing (i.e., content design) for Web and/or native apps.At least 5 years related professional experience as a UX content designer or content strategist, preferably in a digital product or app environment.Able to audit, analyze, structure, create, and present content independently using established frameworks.Applied understanding of human-centered design (HCD) practices and design thinking.A thoughtful, empathetic, and inclusive approach to content design that meets every user where they are.Strong skills in presentation and storytelling, and the ability to communicate compelling rationale and narratives to your team and partners.A passion for travel and for our mission.A portfolio of work that demonstrates your skills. We're especially interested in seeing examples of work you've done for Android and iOS apps, and if you have experience working in a platform or two-sided marketplace, it's a definite plus!
