**Your Role and Responsibilities**
Do you have a passion for creating signature experiences?
We are looking for experienced designers who thrive in a collaborative environment to join us in creating superior end-to-end customer experiences.
In the role, you will need to provide thought leadership for product UI and visual design, have a deep understanding of the usage of design systems and a passion for delighting our customers.
The team you'll be helping to lead is part of the worldwide design organization for AI Applications - a part of IBM that is collectively responsible for software products focused on AI-enabled solutions that assist our customers in making more informed and data-driven decisions about how to manage their business and services.
- Collaborate with designers from across the product set in identifying, developing and adopting excellent design consistency standards.
- Work with a wide variety of people (UX designers, content designers, developers, product owners, etc.)
across our worldwide teams.
- Understand business problems across our customer set in order to have context for deliverables.

**Required Technical and Professional Expertise**
- Deep skills in both visual design principles (typography, layout, imagery, color, creating efficiencies in visual design workflows, etc.)
and visual design tooling (Figma, Sketch, InVision, Adobe Creative Cloud, etc.).
- A passion for creating signature experiences through branding and a common design language.
Knowledge and familiarity with using a design language for product design (with strong attention to detail).
- Experience in solving complex user problems through user interface design, creating mockups and prototypes (low
- and high
- fidelity)
- Experience in the craft of Design and Design Thinking and ability to work with complex design language and component systems.
- Strong communication, presentation and documentation skills with an ability to articulate ideas in a persuasive manner (i.e., storytelling)
- Portfolio of previous work must be presented incorporating UI designs and/or sketches that demonstrate an understanding of interaction design, visual design and design best practices.

**Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise**
- Experience in enterprise software design and delivery
- Understand modern design thinking and design trends (including responsiveness and accessibility)
- Understand the concept of density in visual design to gauge where the visual design of a given experience should be compact and data-heavy vs
spacious and open.
- Understand different industries to better gauge how design issues and users can differ across them
- Familiar with using and contributing to design systems.
