Job Description:Area Scope:In order to perform its legal risk management function properly, Legal is independent of the business functions it serves and may at its own initiative obtain information on transactions and legal risks, and conduct legal quality reviews.
To fulfil these functions and responsibilities, Legal will co-ordinate closely with its clients and provide a transparent and accessible service, fostering an atmosphere of openness and cooperation.
The overall purpose of the role is to head up the Legal team, building key relationships with senior employees of the Bank, clients in Human Resources, colleagues in Legal and external counsel will be of paramount importance.
It prevents and detects violations of law through identifying and managing financial services regulatory risk.
The investment services business is one with many important laws and rules, some of which can be complex.What We Offer YouA diverse and inclusive environment that embraces change, innovation, and collaboration.A hybrid working model, allowing for in-office 3 days a week and work from home 2 days a week.Employee Resource Groups support an inclusive workplace for everyone and promote community engagement.Good compensation packages including health and wellbeing benefits, retirement savings plans, parental leave, among others.What You'll DoSupporting mostly the Investment Banking area, with engagement in other areas of the organization.Providing full legal advice on O&A transactions (M&A, DCM, ECM), as well as other typical banking transactions.To manage legal risk helping to protect the integrity and reputation of Deutsche Bank.To facilitate viable and safe transactions, by giving proactive, business-oriented, and creative advice.To advise on specific Legal cases as well as strategic and policy matters of a legal and regulatory nature.Informs business lines of relevant developments in the law and offers legal education.Provides for unified and consistent legal policies and standards within the Bank.Provide advice regarding Legal issues to Business.May assist and/or participate in Reputational Risk Committees/Issues.Assist in ensuring business meets local regulatory requirements.May review materials/publications to ensure compliance with local rules, laws and regulations.Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide variety of client related documentation.Instructing and managing external counsel as appropriate.Participating in a variety of internal working groups.Participates in the PMO process for local and global projects that involve Legal area.Researching, analysing, and interpreting proposed and existing laws, statutes, and regulations.Structuring, drafting, negotiating and/or approving legal contracts, letters of agreement, policies and other documents related to a variety of trade, commercial, financial, and operational matters.May represent/advocate for the bank in litigation, arbitration, mediation or other governmental and other regulatory or supervisory authorities as well as industry and professional organizations and legislative bodies.Provides guidance to more junior staff where appropriate.How You'll LeadThis position does not have direct reports, but it is important that the candidate has experience in people management, for future growth.
