The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for providing reports and ensuring the integrity of financial statements. This resource will be in charge of identifying and addressing accounting issues; in addition to ensuring that assets, liabilities, and earnings are properly documented and compliant.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Routine Analysis of Financial Reporting: Review monthly variance analyses of month-to-date, quarter-to-date and year-to-date financials against prior periods and budgets/forecasts, working with country Controllers to obtain explanations.
Monthly close process: accounting issues status update, production of monthly/quarterly financial information by market, review and summarize financial templates.
Assists local financial personnel with updating controls documentation.
Assists to RCT in quarterly closing activities: Business SOX Controls, Account Reconciliation and Analysis, Variances, etc. as needed.
Add Hoc projects on reviewing and updating Excel macros for consolidation purposes, assisting business units on internal control issues remediation, special projects and reporting matters.
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Computer Technical literacy (Advanced - Excel)
Knowledge of USGAAP and SOX a plus
Overall understanding of Financial Reporting
Language: Fluent in English, Spanish & Portuguese a plus
Travel: approximately 15% of the time (Mainly Conference and Training)
