The role ThePlayOffs is a professional portal dedicated to delivering news and real-time coverage of the best American sports, focused on the four major sports in the United States – baseball, basketball, American football, and hockey – and their prestigious leagues (MLB, NBA, NFL, and NHL), as well as the NCAA and the top college sports leagues We are looking for an experienced and passionate Community Manager to join our sports media team. As a Community Manager, you will be responsible for managing and growing our presence across multiple social media platforms, engaging with fans, and building a vibrant community around our content, primarily focused on the NBA, NFL, NHL, and MLB. You will play a key role in fostering relationships with our audience, ensuring our brand voice is consistent and interactive, and driving engagement with our content. Key Responsibilities: • Social Media Strategy : Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy for our platforms (Instagram, X, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and emerging platforms), tailored to the sports we cover (NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB). • Content Planning and Creation : Collaborate with the editorial and design teams to plan, create, and publish high-quality, engaging content, including text, images, videos, infographics, and live updates. Focus on game coverage, breaking news, player interviews, and trends in the sports world. • Community Engagement : Actively engage with followers, respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Foster a positive community environment and cultivate relationships with fans, athletes, and influencers within the sports world. • Monitoring and Reporting : Track and analyse key performance metrics, such as engagement rates, follower growth, impressions, and audience sentiment. Provide regular reports on social media performance and suggest improvements based on data. • Trend Identification : Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in social media, sports media, and fan engagement. Identify opportunities to leverage popular content formats, hashtags, and conversations to maximise reach and relevance. • Live Event Coverage : Manage live social media coverage for major sporting events, games, and breaking news. Ensure timely updates and real-time engagement during live broadcasts and games. • Collaboration with Marketing and Sales : Work closely with the marketing and sales teams to support promotional campaigns, partnerships, and branded content. Ensure that all social media efforts align with the overall marketing strategy. The ideal profile We're looking for someone who shares our passion for US Sports and is eager to grow with us. You should be driven, self-motivated, and excited about contributing to a fast-growing media. Ideally you are a native speaker in Portuguese and English, and at the very least fluent.
