In the position of Inventory Control Specialist, you will be responsible for the daily maintenance and accuracy of data contained within SAP and perform daily counts to monitor and maintain inventory levels.Essential Job Functions:Monitor and maintain current inventory levels, controlling the outflow and inflow of inventory.Record purchases, maintain the database, and reconcile actual stock counts to computer-generated reports.Develop inventory process enhancements, investigate daily inventory issues, and determine resolutions.Lead the annual inventory process in collaboration with accounting.Assist in developing and initiating control policies and procedures and in planning activities that relate to inventory control in the organization.Monitor the first expired, first out (FEFO) inventory management method for perishable goods maintained across the distribution center.Analyze inventory statistics to determine which products are selling the most and which are under-performing, analyzing weeks on hand for individual stock keeping units (SKUs).Process and document returns as required following established procedures.Track inventory maintenance and keep management up to date regarding inventory inflow and outflow; compile inventory information and present it to management with recommendations for effective decision making, which may include the need for restock or for quick resolution of issues.Support management in training department personnel, scheduling work assignments, and monitoring quality controls.Position Requirements:Prefer a Bachelor's Degree in the field of Logistics, Business Administration, or a similar field of study.Additional Experience Desired: Between 1-3 years of experience in an inventory control position.Computer Skills Desired: Advanced Excel skills, including creating spreadsheets, pivot tables and charts, using and writing formulas and functions, VLOOKUP, conditional formatting, and using sort, filter, and other data analysis functions.Preferred Certifications: N/AAdditional Knowledge or Skills to be Successful in this role: Familiarity with SAP and EDI programs is a plus.
