The project will employ nanoencapsulation techniques using biocompatible materials, including lipid systems, polymers, and hydrocolloids, to ensure targeted and sustained release, increasing bioavailability and reducing the need for frequent dosing. Additionally, methods will be developed to incorporate these products into fish feed and assess their release. The work aligns with the 'One Health' concept and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and optimize nanoencapsulation techniques using biocompatible materials, including lipid systems and hydrocolloids, for the controlled release of antimicrobials;Evaluate the efficacy of encapsulated agents in reducing microbial resistance and environmental contamination;Design methods for monitoring the release and bioavailability of encapsulated antimicrobials;Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and contribute to scientific publications and technical reports;Ensure compliance with FAPESP regulations, including maintaining full dedication to the project.Desired Qualifications- Proven experience in nanoencapsulation and controlled release systems, particularly in veterinary or aquaculture applications;- Expertise in the physicochemical and biological characterization of encapsulated compounds, and antimicrobial testing assays;- Strong multidisciplinary teamwork skills, with excellent verbal and written communication in both Portuguese and English;- Knowledge of physicochemical methods for substance quantification and identification (HPLC-MS/MS, GC, UV-Vis, and others) is a plus. How to applySubmit a cover letter describing your research interests and motivations;Detailed Curriculum Vitae with a link to your Lattes or ORCID for foreign applicants;Submit two letters of recommendation;Academic records (Undergraduate and Postgraduate).Selection will be based on document analysis and interviews with pre-selected candidates.Submit Documents to: Prof. Dr. Wanderley Pereira Oliveira - ****** for applications: November 15, 2024 - Fellowship Start Date: January 1, 2025Yearly stipends: BRL144,000.00 (nearly USD26,000– tax-free) + research fund equivalent to 10% of the yearly value for items directly related to the research activity (See at: https://fapesp.br/bolsas/pd)Where to applyE-mail: ****** Field: Technology » NanotechnologyEducation Level: PhD or equivalentSkills/Qualifications- Proven experience in nanoencapsulation and controlled release systems, particularly in veterinary or aquaculture applications;- Expertise in the physicochemical and biological characterization of encapsulated compounds, and antimicrobial testing assays;- Strong multidisciplinary teamwork skills, with excellent verbal and written communication in both Portuguese and English;- Knowledge of physicochemical methods for substance quantification and identification (HPLC-MS/MS, GC, UV-Vis, and others) is a plus.
