Software Quality Assurance Engineer

As a QA Engineer, you will be part of a world-class engineering team. You will help improve the quality, performance, and resiliency of products like Rancher and RKE. You will develop comprehensive test suites and strive for full automation coverage of key product features. You will push the envelope of the technology in multiple fronts. You must be knowledgeable and passionate about quality and automation. You must be well versed in programming languages like Python or Go. Experience with DevOps practices and continuous integration environments will be helpful. You must be a quick learner and can get up to speed with latest Docker and Kubernetes container technologies.ResponsibilitiesDesigns quality assurance and test processes for portions and subsystems of end-user applicationAnalyse design and determines test scripts, coding, automation, and integration activities required based on general objectives and knowledge of overall architecture of product or solution.Writes and executes complete testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of application; identifies and debugs, and creates solutions for issues with code and integration into software and firmware architecture.Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding test status, project progress, and issue resolution.Develop and keep our automated testing frameworks up to date.Work closely with development teams to integrate testing into the development lifecycle.Participate in daily stand-ups and working in an agile development environment.Preferred Experience & SkillsTypically 2-4 years experience.Experience in building maintainable and well tested codeSoftware testing methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.Fluency in languages like Go or PythonExperience in DevOps process and CI/CD pipeline tools like Jenkins, Drone, Bamboo, etc.Comfortable in working within a Linux environmentExperience with Kubernetes, dockerPersonal AttributesOutstanding debugging, problem solving, and root cause analysis skillsPassionate about quality and well documented code and processAbility to work cross functionally with all levels of engineers
