As a Windows/OS Engineer, you will be at the forefront of managing and maintaining the enterprise Windows server environment that forms the backbone of our company's IT infrastructure.Main Responsibilities and Duties: Install, configure, test, and maintain Windows server operating systems, software, and system management tools. Ensure high levels of system and infrastructure availability. Monitor and test system performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes. Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies. Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks. Participate in the design of information and operational support systems. Provide 2nd and 3rd level support. Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution. Ensure that all systems are backed up and can be restored in case of data loss or system failure. Keep the organization's data secure from unauthorized access and malicious threats or attacks.Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven working experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows-based environments. Solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks (e.G.,IIS, .NET, MSSQL). Strong knowledge of virtualization and containerization (e.G., VMware, Virtual Box). Experience with monitoring systems. Experience with automation software (e.G., Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or similar). Strong knowledge of networking protocols (e.G., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS). Professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or equivalent.Desired or Preferred Skills and Knowledge: Familiarity with Windows-specific services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Exchange. Experience with scripting and automation tools. Knowledge of security best practices. Excellent troubleshooting skills.Tools Required: Proficiency with systems and server software and tools such as Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, PowerShell, and Microsoft System Center. Knowledge of disaster recovery software and backup systems. Familiarity with patch management tools. Experience with configuration management platforms (Puppet, Chef, Ansible).
