St. Nicholas Alphaville is looking for a Design Technology Teacher to join our Secondary section, starting in January 2025 or sooner. Main responsibilities within the role: To plan and deliver dynamic and student-centred lessons where technology and the design cycle are an integral component. To collaborate with the Design Technology department and wider teaching body, supporting the professional development and upskilling of teachers regarding the use of educational technology and resources. To contribute to the development of a STEM programme and implement MakerSpace methodology and other innovative practices to foster interdisciplinary understanding. To be part of a growing department where teachers value sharing ideas, resources, and experiences. To support the school's safeguarding practices, including e-Safety and child protection policies. To contribute to the Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) programme and PSHE curriculum in a way that reflects your experience and interests. To assist in curriculum development, ensuring it aligns with the school's inquiry-based philosophy and values. Required Skills and Attributes: A relevant degree in Design Technology, ICT, Computer Science, or a related field (Essential). Experience teaching Design Technology or ICT at the secondary school level (Essential). Experience with the IB MYP programme (Highly Desirable). Strong knowledge of and experience with design and educational technology, as well as classroom technology-related pedagogy (Essential). A commitment to inquiry-based learning and alignment with the school's vision and mission (Essential).
